Royce - secretive, explosive and one of Hallandale's most eligible bachelors - this Hallandale native is one you don't want to mess with. With a long-standing feud against the Pierre's and the Pryce' family, does this man have any friends? Well, aside from his sister, the only two people that come close are Anton Mcloud (a former colleague) and Jessica Chappell. Although, there was a time in the very distant past when Royce also found friendship with Earl Pryce. They were the best of buds, constantly in each other's shadow. It helped that their parents were also great friends. It would become clear just how friendly their parents were following his mother's sudden suicide. Royce just couldn't wrap his head around the fact that his mother would willingly choose to leave him, his sister and their father. When news of his best friend's mother affair with Royce's father hit the fan, Royce became convinced that Earl's mother was behind his mother's suicide/murder in order to free his father up to be with her. This unsubstantiated theory led to the eventual downfall of his friendship with Earl, who defended his mother, of course, and couldn't believe that his own friend would think something so heinous of Earl's own mother. Even the authorities couldn't find evidence to suggest that his mother's death was more than a suicide, but Royce blamed Earl's mother nonetheless as if it weren't for the affair, his mother might still be alive. You would think that Earl's mother's passing a few years later would have tamed Royce's hatred, but it only seemed to grow more as time went on. In fact, Earl's mother funeral was the last time Earl and Royce had a semi-friendly moment before Earl moved away with his younger brother.
If Royce didn't think he could hate anyone more than he hated Earl's mother, he would find a new source of raging fire when his father was killed by a drunk driver, who was none other than, LeoPold Pierre, Alexader's father. Due to his family's extreme wealth and power, LeoPold was able to get off scott free for his crime, a fact that angered Royce. Apparently the state was more concern with what LeoPold's big bucks could do for them than achieving justice for his father.
As for his love life, it was pretty much non-existent until Kendall Reyes came along, which wasn't love at first sight by any far stretch of the imagination, but grew into something meaningful over time. Kavina's conviction trial was, in part, instrumental in smoothing the path toward a respectabe friendship. So with Kendall working side by side with him as his executive assistant, could there be some love in store for the two? Maybe. There's no doubt that Royce could sure use some light in the midst of all the darkness that he has had to overcome.
