About Shanna

Shanna was previously married to Detective Terrell Bryce while living in New Orleans, a fact that she hid from her current husband, Ben Hemmings. When he learned of the mysterious circumstances surrounding Terrell's death, he was gravely disappointed that Shanna was able to move on without ever uncovering the truth. Despite her wishes to keep the past buried, Ben started digging around in Louisiana. Desperate to protect her husband, she asked Derek (Ben's best friend) to go after Ben. A few days later, Ben returned home alone. When Shanna was later confronted about Derek's disappearance, she told her husband that her mob-connected parents had banned her from Lousiana. Terrell, who was investigating the Mallory's connection to the mob, was killed after she unwittingly gave him up to them. Ben could not believe her stupidity, nor the fact that she was sitting idly by when Derek's life could be in jeopardy. He convinced her that they needed to return to New Orleans to find Derek.

The showdown at the Mallory compound was swift. Facing imminent death by the hand of her father's gun, the cops swooped in and arrested the mob parents. She and Ben returned to Hallandale, and settled back into their routine, but Derek remained unforgiving toward Shanna for her part in his kidnapping. Later that summer, Shanna met mysterious stranger Andrew Stokes, who she allowed to recuperate in her home after he had been jumped by thugs. As Ben became more invested in getting Shalia out of Derek's life, Andrew pulled Shanna further into his orbit by building her an art studio. Derek grew suspicious of Andrew's close bond with Shanna, but she felt he should worry more about his own, no good wife.

As the weeks gathered, she fought with the Hallandale Police Department, Shalia and Derek about her husband's whereabouts. However, nothing could prepare her for Derek's revelation that Ben was involved in fatal plane crash. She also became convinced that Shalia was involved when she learned that crash took place near Coral Springs, but Derek defended his wife. As a result, Shanna placed the blame squarely on him. The next morning, she prepared for the difficult task of identifying Ben's body and saying good-bye.
