Widlin:
She could be in Australia for all I know or care.
Alexander:
Wherever she is, she also has my son or daughter-- your brother or sister with her.
Widlin:
Don't remind me.  Knowing that I have something related to me that was bore by that-- (rethinking her word choice) witch is enough to make my skin crawl. (~)
Sandy:
It was one kiss.  No one planned it.  It just happened.
Sherri:
So you're lips just happened on over to Romain's?  Is that what you're telling me?  (Sandy doesn't answer quick enough, prompting Sherri's voice to accelerate, catching the attention of everyone in the restaurant) Answer me, damn it.
Romain:
(observing the eyes, he whispers firmly to her) You are causing a scene.
Sherri:
(turning adamantly in his direction) Well, forgive me for not knowing how to react to seeing my sister kissing my ex.
Romain:
(saying it clearly enough for the whole restaurant to hear) That's right, your ex.  We are not together anymore. (~)
Matthew: (fearing the worst) Evelin, would you stop standing there and tell me what is wrong with my brother?
Evelin: (regaining grasp of the situation before her) Nothing is wrong with Earl. In fact, things could not be better. As I was getting ready to tell the nurse— (She motions her head slightly toward the nurse) Earl's awake.
Matthew: (his jaw loosens, but his fears are not quite appease) What? (~)
Sandy:  (cautiously approaching the door, when she opens it, she finds the person she wouldn't have fathom seeing again in her wildest dream) Mitchell.  You're back.
Mitchell:
Yeah, it's been a long time. (~)
Widlin:
You've driven me away and Akeira isn't coming back any time soon that I know of.  So why don't you make some inroads with the son that is still here?  He's celebrating his engagement today, does that not mean anything to you...
(the group laughs as a newly arrived presence orbits the table.  As the faces before them start to reflect shock and dismay, Kyle and Lacreasha adjust their gaze and are floored to find him of all people standing before them)
Alexander:  Hello son. (~)
Evelin: (having the opportunity to do so, Evelin moves toward Earl's bed) I'm just thrilled that you finally decided to come back to us. We all are. (ushering Matthew who stands beside her)
Matthew: Yes, we are. (he says with a slight nervousness as Dana grips his shoulder from behind)
Earl: (shifting his body upward in the bed, he grins coyly) You mean you no longer wish I were dead?
Matthew: (returning the smile as if it's a non-serious matter) I think I had enough time to grapple with the possibility and it is highly underrated. (~)
Mitchell:  Sandy, about us--
Woman:
(stepping a few feet inside the condo with baby in arm) Mitchell, Roy is getting -- Hi, I'm sorry, I don't mean to waltz into your place unannounced.
Sandy:
(looking at the woman curiously) Who are you?
Mitchell:
This is Akeira Smith Desmores.  (Sandy's eyes raise at the sound of Mitchell's surname being echoed) She's my wife!

***Alexander:
Hello son! (the words roll casually off his lips, as if they were an old song being played over for the umpteenth time)
Kyle: (still trying to grasp the meaning of his father’s appearance) What are you doing here?
Alexander: Well, my son is getting married. I figured I should at least congratulate you and the lucky fiancée.
Kyle: Why?
Lacreasha: (making up for her fiancé's lack of vigor) Yes, why are you here, Alexander? Everyone in this room knows that you were never any kind of a father to Kyle.
Alexander: You’re right, Lacreasha. (she stares him down with disgust) I allowed my personal feelings to get in the way of my relationship with my son.
Lacreasha: (scoffs, turning her head off to the side) That’s one way of putting it.
Alexander: However, I’m here in hopes of making amends.
Kyle: Amends? You spent the last 27 years of my life thinking you were better than me and now, on the day that I’m supposed to be celebrating my engagement, you waltz in here, expecting me to just push aside all the venom you have spewed over the years so that you can start playing father.
Alexander: I’m not asking for forgiveness, or that you even forget my transgressions. I’m asking for a second chance. (Kyle is unable to look away from the glimmer of hope that shrouds his father’s presence)

Sherri: (Outside of Monte Carlos, Romain blocks the entrance as she tries to fight her way through) Get out of my way.
Romain: You are not going back in there until you calm down and start acting like an adult. (Sherri grunts, moving away from the entrance. Romain doesn’t budge, instead, choosing to let her know what he thought of her behavior tonight) You realize what you did to your sister tonight was absolutely unforgivable. She did not deserve to be humiliated that way.
Sherri: I was doing this town a public service.
Romain: No, you were hurt and so you decided to strike back. The only thing you accomplished tonight is proving that you are so wrapped up in the past, that it is impossible for you to move forward.

(<- Sky Lansing Condos ->)
Sandy: Mitchell. You’re back.
Mitchell: (he smiles) Yeah, it’s been a long time.
Sandy: Long? It seems like forever. You’re just what the doctor ordered. (She pulls him in close, their breath becoming uniformed as if no time had passed, but Mitchell soon pulls away)
Mitchell: No. (looking into Sandy’s brown eyes as she clings still very close, curious as to why they stopped) We can’t.
Sandy: Of course. You must be tired from your flight home. We can talk about us later.
Mitchell: Us? I think you’ve—
~The role of Akeira Smith Desmores is now being represented by Tracee Ellis Ross.
Akeira: (walking up the patio, she finds the door to the condo Mitchell just entered slightly ajar and proceeds to enter with baby in arm) Mitchell, Roy is getting –- (spotting him with Sandy) Hi, I’m sorry to be walking into your home unannounced.
Sandy: Hello. (looking at the women inquisitively) Who are you?
Mitchell: (Akeira looks to him, prompting him to speak up) Sandy, this is Akeira Smith Desmores.
Sandy: (her eyes dash open at the sound of Mitchell’s surname) Desmores?
Mitchell: She’s my wife.
Sandy: (with the blink of an eye, her tone turns to shock as she finds herself backing away sporadically) What? She’s your-- (she gravitates toward the nearest available seat)
Mitchell: (walking over to his wife) Akeira, could you excuse us for a minute?
Akeira: Sure! (twiddling with her son’s fingers. Mitchell looks on with a happy face) Roy seems to have calmed down now, so we will be waiting outside. (Mitchell watches as she diligently exits the condo, then turns back to Sandy, who sits trying to grasp everything she has just heard)
Mitchell: I’m sorry, I didn’t intend for you to find out quite like this.
Sandy: Well, I was bound to find out sooner or later. You’re married. (she pauses, taking in the undeniable fact) How can that be? After all this time, how could you come back into my life betrothed to someone else?

Earl: (turning to the sound of his hospital room door opening) Hey, what are you still doing here?
Matt: (walking over to his brother’s bed) I couldn’t go home. Besides, you’re finally awake, I thought I would take advantage while I still have the chance.
Earl: So you’re an opportunist now?
Matt: A trait that was handed down a generation, perhaps.
Earl: Perhaps. (slight grin graces his face) So you can’t tell me you spent every waking hour at my side, what else have you been up to?
Matt: Believe it or not, I actually stayed pretty close by and Dana was nice enough to keep me company.
Earl: and how are things between you and Dana? I mean, really?
Matt: Dana and I are fine. We both sort been helping each other out. There hasn’t been time for romance.
Earl: I didn’t say anything.
Matt: You suggested it and while I have considered the possibility, it just isn’t the right time.

(<- Sky Lansing Condos ->)
Mitchell: You’re right, a lot of time has passed and perhaps you don’t remember, but I didn’t just get up one day and decide to marry someone else. The woman I loved couldn’t remember me or our life together.
Sandy: (quick to the defense) I was in a coma and suffering from residual memory loss.
Mitchell: A memory loss that seemed pretty permanent back then. That wasn’t an easy thing for me to accept.
Sandy: (she scowls) Yet you managed somehow.
Mitchell: I met Akeira at a time where we were both at a crossroad in our lives. I helped her and she helped me.
Sandy: So what? Is this somehow my fault? Is this payback for me not being able to return your love?
Mitchell: You know me better than that.
Sandy: I thought I did. But the Mitchell I knew wouldn’t have given up on me so fast. He wouldn’t be here right now telling me he’s married to someone else.

(<- Monte Carlos ->)
Sherri: (fierce) Well, if you’re referring to the brief moment in time that was our relationship, then yes, I say the ship has sailed.
Romain: (standing back compose, he watches her, almost introspectively) and yet it is so clearly obvious that is the last thing you want. I mean, look at your actions tonight... You were irrational and completely out of control.
Sherri: Well, forgive me for not being able to stomach the sight of you kissing my sister.
Romain: Well, maybe you should think about why that is. If our relationship was such a small blip on your radar, then why go crazy over one kiss.
***Sherri: Why are we discussing this?
Romain: Because you’re the one that decided to share it with the whole restaurant and I would like to understand why.
Sherri: Oh, I think I made my reasons perfectly clear earlier.
Romain: Yeah, I understand the precedent. I’m just trying to understand the feelings behind it.
Sherri: and what possible difference could that make?
Romain: Maybe it will finally get you to realize the driving emotions behind your own self-delusions.

Kyle: A second chance?
Lacreasha: You blew your second chance, your third and your fourth.
Kyle: (attempts to cut her off) Lacreasha?
Lacreasha: No. (turning to her fiancé) You cannot believe a word that comes out of this man’s mouth. Alexander Pierre doesn’t do anything unless there is something in it for him.
Kyle: Believe me, no one knows that better than me and I’m just as curious as to the reasons behind his sudden change of heart as you are.
Lacreasha: That’s bartering that he even has one to change.
Alexander: Look, there is no denying that I haven’t been the best possible father to Kyle. In fact, our relationship has been downright horrendous at times.
Lacreasha: At no fault of your own.
Alexander: (he cuts an anger glare at her that she returns with a snooty curl of the eyebrow) But we’re both at significant points in our lives. You’re getting married and I’m going to be a father again. (Lacreasha gives him a look of discern) I would like for us both to be able to share in that. I would like to put the atrocities of the past behind us. Can we do that?

(<- Sky Lansing Condos ->)
Mitchell: You know, we can stand here all night and debate where things went wrong between us, but it won’t change things. I have moved on.
Sandy: Have you really? I mean, are you as emotionally invested in Akeira as you would like me to believe?
Mitchell: What?
Sandy: Do you love your wife, Mitchell?
Mitchell: Of course I do. I wouldn’t have married her if otherwise.
Sandy: Yet I was the first person you had to see upon returning to Hallandale? Your ex-lover, the one that got away.
Mitchell: What are you getting at?
Sandy: I think you know. It’s whether or not you have enough balls to admit it that remains to be seen.
Mitchell: Admit what?
Sandy: (moving within breath range) That you were just itching for the moment to be this close to me again.
***Mitchell: (he feels the intensity of the heat between their bodies, their lips teetering on the edge of bliss and it takes an unknown source of restraint for him to pull away) I won’t deny that we shared something special, but that ended—a long time ago.
Sandy: It has barely been a year. You cannot tell me that you have forgotten how good we were together. (she lays one hand on his chest, looking into his eyes adoringly) We were insatiable, together and apart. Do you really think you will be able to have that with Akeira?
Mitchell: (he takes her hand, which stays firm under his for a moment, and removes it delicately away from his chest) I’m committed to Akeira and our child.
Sandy: Your child? I know a lot of time has passed, but it hasn’t been that long.
Mitchell: I don’t have to be connected to Roy biologically to consider him my son.
Sandy: Yeah, just make him your father’s namesake and that’s all taken care of.
Mitchell: I resent that.
Sandy: Really? Are you going to stand here and tell me that if that baby wasn’t in the picture, you would still be married to Akeira?

(<- Monte Carlos ->)
Kyle: I appreciate you coming here and telling me all of this, but you will have to understand that this is a decision I can’t make right here and right now.
Alexander: I do, son. (Lacreasha cringes at the mention of Alexander recognizing Kyle as his son) I’m just thankful that you were willing to hear me out.
Kyle: Well, I don’t suppose I had much choice, the journalist in me and all.
Alexander: Yes, curiosity definitely runs in the Pierre’ bloodline.
Lacreasha: Spare us.
Kyle: Honey.
Alexander: It’s all right, son. Your fiancée is obviously being protective of you. I just hope you will both come to realize in due time that I mean no harm. (The words do little to reassure Lacreasha, who looks to Kyle for similar concern)

Romain: Tonight, for the first time, I saw a glimmer of how you really felt.
Sherri: (she jumps in immediately) It’s hard to escape the look of betrayal when its staring you right in the face.
Romain: It wasn’t betrayal, that’s what your head chose to convey. But your heart betrayed you. You were upset and it wasn’t because you felt betrayed by your sister, it’s because you wished you were in her place.
Sherri: You’re absolutely full of it.
Romain: (grabbing her arm firmly before she can make a full turn) Am I? (He looks intently in her eyes, hoping her answer will match what is clearly on her face at that moment)
Sherri: Let go of my arm.
Romain: No! Not until you answer my question.

(<- Leysdale Hospital ->)

Earl: Well, take it from me bro, life is full of surprises and if you waste too much time trying to search for some mystical sign, then you may never have the chance.
Matthew: I know. I understand what you’re saying.
Earl: (quick to inquire) Do you? It wasn’t that long ago that we both underestimated how much time we had left—when our petty grievances were greater than our bond as brothers.
Matthew: I think it was little more serious than that, but I understand where you’re coming from. I won’t wait long. It’s just now really isn’t the time, especially with this virus spreading and Dana’s brother missing.
Earl: Dana’s brother?
Matthew: Brock. Samantha disappeared a few days ago and he went off desperately trying to find her. Dana hasn’t heard from him since, so she is pretty worried.
Earl: Well, from what I gathered, Brock is a pretty capable man. He would have to be to put up with Royce Keller as a brother-in-law.
Matthew: Still not one of his biggest fans?
Earl: You know that I’m not and I’m surely not one of his.
Matthew: and would you prefer it that way, to be near death with all this animosity still vibrant between you and Royce, a man that use to be your friend, your best friend?
***Earl: Nice way to turn things around on me bro, but the situations are completely different. You and Dana can stand to be in the same room together, without wanting to tear the other person apart. (he lifts his head slightly with a cocky grin) The same cannot be said for me and Royce.
Matthew: That I just don’t understand. You guys were friends for so long, childhood buddies. A strong connection like that just doesn’t end.
Earl: Well, it did. The affair between our mother and his father changed things. Somewhere along the lines, I became the enemy, especially after his mother’s death and after all these years, there is still no diminishing that.

(<- Outside of Monte Carlos ->)
Sherri: Why do you need me to confirm what you already know?
Romain: Because it makes all the difference hearing it from your lips to mine. (their bodies locked by his firm grip on her arm)
Sherri: (she turns her head away in an effort to hide her affections) You know, you’re right. It hurts my heart to admit it, but I wish it was me you were kissing tonight and not my sister, but—
Romain: No, no. No buts. Let’s stop wasting time denying our attraction and be together.
Sherri: Then what? Sweep all the secrets and distrust under the rug. I can’t do that!

Lacreasha: (taking a moment with Cody and Rebecca as the table to their engagement celebration begins to clear up) Cody, Rebecca, it was a pleasure hanging out with you. Hopefully we can do something a little more intimate soon.
Rebecca: You bet. I’ll even share some bedroom secrets.
Cody: and on that note, we depart! (he flashes his pearly whites and then takes his wife on his arm as they proceed toward the exit)
Leigha: (expressing her sense of warmth at the sight of Cody and Rebecca leaving together) Aw. That’s going to be you and Kyle soon.
Lacreasha: and I couldn’t be happier.
Leigha: Speaking of your fiancé, where did he disappear to? (before she can finish the question, Kelley jolts her on the shoulder, causing an unmistakable look of fright to grace her face) Kelley!
Kelley: Our boy wonder is to your right, with Malina and Anton.
Leigha: Thank you, lone stalker, but in the future, can you please not sneak up on me that way again?
Kelley: I’ll give it some thought. Anyhow, I’m headed out, but I just wanted to wish the blushing bride-to-be good luck.
Lacreasha: (she gives Kelley a hug) Thanks, but hopefully, I won’t need it.
Kelley: (breaking the hug) Well, just in case. Tell the K-Man, I’ll talk to him later.
Lacreasha: Sure thing!
Leigha: Just a minute, Hensley. I’ll head out with you. (she turns and gives Lacreasha a hug of her own) Good night.
Lacreasha: Good night. (she said, as the two went on their merry way, leaving the party of eight down to four)

(<- Sky Lansing Condos ->)
Mitchell: Akeira and I made a vow before God on our commitment to one another; Roy was christened based on that love. He isn’t just my father’s namesake. He is my son.
Sandy: I think I’ve heard enough.
Mitchell: You’re probably right. I think we’ve said all there is to say tonight. Besides, I have kept Akeira and my son waiting long enough.
Sandy: Then maybe you should go. You know where the door is.
Mitchell: (he feels the sting of her words and for a moment, wonders if he should leave, but the moment passes) Yes, I do. Good night.
Sandy: Good night! (she stares right through him as he makes his way to the door, and out of the condo)
