Previously on "The Mysteries of Our Lives"
Shaquanna:
(watching as he leaves through the gates of the park) Handsome devil, isn’t he?
Malina:  What? ... I’m also happily involved with Anton.
Shaquanna:  Doesn’t mean you’re the ice princess.  Besides, there’s no ring on your finger or his [meaning Morgan] for that matter. (~)
Mitchell:
(he takes her hand, which stays firm under his for a moment, and removes it delicately away from his chest) I’m committed to Akeira and our child.
Sandy: Your child? I know a lot of time has passed, but it hasn’t been that long.
Mitchell: I don’t have to be connected to Roy biologically to consider him my son.
Sandy: Yeah, just make him your father’s namesake and that’s all taken care of. (~)
Romain:
(jumps swiftly in) Then we admit that we both have changed.  That the only things we are chasing after are figments of our imagination.
Sherri:  What are you babbling about?
Romain:  The apparent end of this ideal romance that I believed we could have.

***Light jazz music fills the room of Hallandale’s hottest night club, El Club de Moniasis. Right now, however, it seems pretty quiet in this part of town. There were a couple of scattered teens entertaining themselves in the cyber café and arcade, while the few adults present were parked at tables in the center of the club, enjoying their coffee and hot drinks. Kyle Sharrington, in particular, is quite comfortable in his chair while glancing over a copy of PRC (Past Revelations Chronicles – his father’s newspaper, go figure) and taking a few sips of his vanilla mocha latté every few minutes. His repetition was ultimately broken by an oncoming Anton, who raced over and helped himself to an empty seat, while leaning over the table to alert Kyle to his presence.
Anton: You will not believe what is going down?
Kyle: (lowering the paper from his face) It had better be good. (he says with a slight sting in his voice)
Anton: I just go word from a credible source that there is about to be a major break in the Hemmings' disappearance case.

(<- Leysdale Hospital ->)
Romain:
(handing the file to the orderly) Thank you. Just keep me up to breast on the rest of your findings.  (The orderly makes tracks, pressing the button for the elevator.  As it sounds, Sandy Reynolds steps off as Romain makes his way over to the nurse's station.  When he looks averts his attention in the direction of the elevator, he notices Ms. Reynolds approaching)
Sandy: Hey.
Romain: (there's a slight nervousness in his movement) Hey. (stuffing his hands in his labcoat) What are you doing here?
Sandy: Well, I wanted to make sure you were alright. Last night -- (she shakes her head slightly) Sherri, you coming to my condo...
Romain: Yeah, that.  I hope I didn't wake you or anything.
Sandy:  No, I -- (thinks momentarily about Mitchell's announcement) It was an interesting night, last night.
Romain:  That it was. (his tone becomes a little more lively) But it's a new day, and I for one don't plan to spend it looking at the past.

(<- Sky Lansing Condos: Mitchell and Akeira's Place ->)
Akeira:
(walking toward the archway of the kitchen, she stops for a few seconds and look onward at Mitchell, who is enjoying a nice warm plate of grits, bacon and scrambled eggs.  Akeira takes in the heavenly scent when she finally ascents into the kitchen) Ummm... smells like brunch.
Mitchell: (he motions his head in her direction as his spoons hits a region in the section of his grits) Yeah.  I placed a plate for you in the microwave.
Akeira: (her face glows with thrilled amazement as she makes her way over to their eating table) Why thank you.  You didn't have to do that.
Mitchell: (digesting another layer of his meal) Well, I figured we're married.  I should spoil you every now and then.
Akeira: Are you sure that's all it is?
Mitchell: What do you mean?
Akeira: You saw your ex- last night.  The woman you thought you were going to spend the rest of your life with.  That couldn't have been easy.
Mitchell:  No, it wasn't.  There was a lot of unresolved issues to discuss, but Sandy knows where I stand. (he grabs a piece of bacon from his plate and places it firmly in his mouth, chewing on it as Akeira makes her inquiry)
Akeira:  and were does she stand?

(<- Nichols' Beauticon ->)
Malina:
(the dimly lit rom brings a glow to her face as she awaits for the photographer to finish developing the latest photos from Garrett's shoot this morning.  In the background, Malina takes note of a line of photos scattered across the wall - dozens filled with models of yesteryear - Michelle Dientes, Kendall Reyes, Widlin Pierre. etc...   She then turns back to the photographer, who is focused on developing his photos just right)   You really have quite a talent.  Shaquanna was lucky you stuck around, even after all the scandals.
Photographer:  Well, the subjects are phenomenonal to work with. (he lifts one of the photos of Garrett from his tray and attaches it to a string line hanging above him for it to dry)  As for my not leaving, Shaquanna gave me my start in the biz.  I couldn't imagine being or working for anyone else.
Shaquanna: (her distress voice bellows through the phone) I know there is no other way.  Just give me a little more time, please.
Undisclosed Voice:
"You have had more than enough time.  Stop dragging your feet and get things in order."
Shaquanna:  Perhaps if you were a little more understanding, you would realize this isn't an easy decision.  I have made a life here, things are finally starting to go right in my life.
Undisclosed Voice:  "I'm not debating this with you over the phone.  Our decision is final." (phone clicks)
Shaquanna: (slamming her phone down on the receiver, steam expels from within as she takes a deep breath, leaving her to ponder the choice she is being forced to make) God, how am I going to do this?  How am I supposed to just give everything up?
Malina: (makes herself known after waltzing in quietly just a few seconds ago) Give what up?
Shaquanna: (she turns swiftly, startled by the sound of her voice) Malina.
Malina:  What's going on, Shaquanna?

Malina:  I know something is wrong.  You haven't been with me all day, and you seem very distressed by that phone call just now.
Shaquanna: (she tries to look pass Malina's concern, searching for some place inside herself to come up with the words) You're right. I've been trying to avoid this moment, but something is going on and if there is anyone who deserves the truth, it's you.
Malina: (appearing completely oblivious) What truth?

(<- Sky Lansing Condos: Mitchell and Akeira's Place ->)
Mitchell:
(moving from the table, he tosses his empty glass of orange juice in the sink while continuing his conversation) It doesn't matter where Sandy stands on our marriage because she knows I'm committed to you.
Akeira: (looking onward at him as she repositions herself in the seat at the table) I think that is where we disagree because I think it does matter and judging from what I could see of her reaction last night, I don't think she's over you.
Mitchell:  We share a history, a very complicated one.  Things were never fully resolved when I left town, but now that she knows that I have moved on, maybe she can too.
Akeira:  and is that the type of woman Sandy is?  One to give up and move on? (Mitchell thinks back briefly to his affair with Sandy while he was married to her sister.  There was no tearing them apart, but the was the last thing he wanted to let on to his new wife)

(<- Lesydale Hospital ->)
Sandy:
By past, I suppose you mean my sister.  What exactly went down between you two last night?
Romain:  I don't want talk about it.
Sandy:  Well, it might help if someone listened.
Romain: (he leans in close to her over the desk.  He's quiet for a few second before...) What are you doing tonight?
Sandy:  Excuse me?
Romain:  I hear the Rendezvous Shack is entertaining some local talent tonight.
Sandy: (her eyes twinkle with a degree of skepticism) Are you asking me out on a date?
Romain: (he backs away from the desk a little, minimizing his direct eye contact) and what if... (his eyes become focus on her) I am?
Sandy:  Well, overlooking the fact that the question came from a direct attempt to avoid my question, I would have to wonder if that is a good idea.
Romain:  Why wouldn't it be?
Sandy:  My sister, for one.  She already went ballistic after seeing you kiss me.  There's no telling what she'll do when she hears about this.
Romain:  I don't give a damn what your sister does.   She had her chance with me and now it's over.  I just want to have some fun, I think I'm a little entitled and I thought you might be the woman to see that I do.  But if you're not -- if you prefer to fixate on fixing the irreparable, then maybe you should just go back out the way you came. (he takes his chart and makes an exit)

***Sandy: (having decided to follow him toward the elevator, she stands on the track of the elevator doors to prevent it from closing) Believe me, I'm not interested in playing matchmaker with you and my sister.  Especially not after the scene she caused last night.
Romain: Good.  Our lives have revolved around your sister long enough.  It's time we get the focus back on us.
Sandy:  By having dinner at the Shack?
Romain:  I can think of worst things, can't you? (Sandy moves off the track, but Romain places his finger on a button to keep the doors from shutting automatically)  Why don't you think about it?  (He suggest before removing his finger from the button and allowing the doors to close.  Sandy turns her head slightly away from the doors, pondering if acting on Romain's invitation is really a good idea)

(<- El Club de Moniasis ->)
Kyle:
What exactly did this reliable source say?
Anton:  Pretty much what I just told you: There is going to be a break in the Hemmings' disappearance case.  He promises that it will make an explosive front page story.
Kyle:  So basically we're running on what could just be idle gossip?
Anton:  Like I said, he's reliable.  He hasn't let me down yet.
Kyle: and when exactly is this big break suppose to be going down?
Anton:   Later tonight.  Pryce International.
Kyle:   Well, I guess it won't hurt to check it out.
Lacreasha: (walking into their converation) Hurt to check what out?

(<- Nichols' Beauticon ->)
Shaquanna:
Before I tell you everything, I want to thank you for your support and your friendship.  You stuck by me when everyone in this town was practically running in the opposite direction.
Malina:  Well, my motives weren't exactly innocent.  I needed a job and if you remember correctly, I gave you pretty hard time about the whole scandal with Widlin.
Shaquanna:  Yeah, but you worked hard to move past it and not judge me.
Malina:  I suppose.  Why are you bringing all of this up?
Shaquanna:  because I admire you.  I admire your energy and the fact that you have liven this place up again.
Malina:  I didn't do it alone.  You were as much apart of its rebirth as I was.
Shaquanna:  But it's your energy I feel when I walk into this place, your commitment.
Malina:  Well, I'm honored you would say that.  I definitely feel like apart of me has been engraved here.
Shaquanna:  and you should.  You should never feel out of place, even when I'm gone.
Malina:  Gone?  What's going on?
Shaquanna:  It's a family emergency.  One I can't put off for much longer.
Malina:  What does that mean?
Shaquanna:  After the fashion show, I plan to leave Hallandale.
Malina:  Well, of course, that's understandable.  We'll just forge along the best we can until you get back.
Shaquanna:  I don't think you understand.  When I leave, I have no plans on returning.

< HALF SEGMENT CREDITS >

Malina:  I don't understand.  Nichols' is here.  Your life is here.  How can you leave?
Shaquanna:  It's wasn't an easy decision, believe me.
Malina:  Then perhaps you should think about it a little more before you just abandon everything we've built.

(<- El Club de Moniasis ->)
Kyle:
Anton and I were just discussing a story.  Nothing you need to worry about.
Lacreasha:  (taking a seat next to him) Well, I suppose that depends on the story.
Kyle:  (he looks to Anton before continuing) Ben Hemmings' disappearance.  Apparently something major is going down tonight.
Lacreasha:  (cringes at the mention) Uh, as if Shanna needs any more bad news about her husband.
Kyle:  Well, let's hope that isn't the case.  For all we know, Anton's source could be completely off course, right?
Anton:  It's possible, but I don't think its likely.  If he believes something is going down, it most likely is.
Lacreasha:  Yet your source didn't reveal any details, I presume?
Anton:  Correct.  Why do you ask?
Lacreasha:  Just a little strange.
Anton:  Strange how?
Lacreasha:  Well, if it is such a big story, why is your source holding out on the details?
Liam:  (outside of the entrance, he nudges her into the building) Come on, this should be fun.
Rochelle:  I don't know-- Clubs really aren't my scene. (She says as she enters the moderately pumping place.  It doesn't meet her perception of a club, where there's music blaring, topless bar maidens and dirty dancing)
Liam:  Quiet, quaint, what's not to like?  (Rochelle takes in his words as she looks around the room, her eyes landing on one particular person.  Her expression is hard to make out, at first it appears to be a mix of surprise and displeasure, then mild amusement)
Rochelle:  You're right.  Let's stay.  (she then makes her way through the club, Liam follows a few seconds behind)

(<- Sky Lansing Condos: Mitchell and Akeira's Place ->)
Mitchell:
How is our little boy?
Akeira:  He's good.  I think he just needed a little time with his mom.  (a deafening silence falls as Mitchell ponders what to say next before Akeira drops her head and then approaches the subject Roy's cooing interrupted) You never answered my question earlier: Should I be worried about Sandy?
Mitchell:  I'm not sure how you want me to answer that.
Akeira:  I want the truth.  We've been away for quite a while, but now we're back, in a place of familiarity.  I can understand if your perspective has changed.
Mitchell:  It hasn't.  I'm committed to you and our child.
Akeira:  I hope so because things could get real ugly once Alexander realizes I'm back in town.  I would like to know that you're in my corner.
Mitchell:  (he stands from the couch and glides toward her)  I am.  (he takes her hand) I realize what we came here to do and I'm not going to let anyone get in our way, not even Sandy.  (he takes her in a warm embrace, but her mind remains a little unsettled, as does his)

(<- Leysdale Hospital ->)
Romain:
(boarding off the elevator, he catches sight of her in the lobby seating area.  Making his way over, he wraps his stethoscope around his neck) Hey, you're still here? (taking a seat on the couch adjacent to hers)
Sandy:   (looking up from her magazine, she takes in his pleased disposition and tosses it to the side) Well, I decided to give your invitation some thought and what the hell -- what time should I meet you?
Romain:  (his lets out an excited grin as he reclines back slightly in his seat) 6 o'clock.  I'll pick you up at your place.
Sandy:  (she turns her slightly with a subtle grin) My place.  Do you have other plans in mind that I'm unaware of, Dr. Chandler?
Romain:  I guess you'll have to wait and see.  (he winks)
Sandy:   (moving from her seat, she walks over to him and kneels down just enough for her lips to come within whispering distance of his ears) Just don't get lost.  (Romain smiles too himself, feeling a rush of freedom finally after all these months)

***Anton:  I get where you're coming from, Lacreasha.  Ordinarily, if I were dealing with a source that was being this mysterious, I might be a little less inclined to believe him as well.  But I've worked with this guy, I trust that he's on the up and up.
Lacreasha:  Well, you've been doing this a lot longer than I have.  So I trust that you know what you're doing.
Anton:  Thanks, I think. (a part of him wonders if he should take her reasoning at face value, but the twinge of doubt quickly leaves his mind as he pulls his chair from under the table) Well, I'll leave you two to enjoy the rest of your afternoon.
Lacreasha:  Actually, why don't you stay?  (the suggestion leaves Anton with a pause) Malina is suppose to be meeting me here later, perhaps we can make it a foursome?
Anton:  Well, I do have a critical story --
Kyle: (he gives Anton a crossed look) Come on, man.
Anton:  Well, I suppose I can spare a few hours. (Lacreasha smiles as she brushes her shoulder against Kyle's)
Liam:  (glancing over the menu, he speaks indirectly to Rochelle, who watches as Anton takes another seat with Kyle and Lacreasha) You know, I can't decide between the steak or ribs.  Maybe I'll just have a burger, keep it simple.  What do you think? (no sound comes from Rochelle, forcing Liam to look up from his menu.  When he does, he sees that Rochelle is sitting in front of him, but yet, she's not really with him)  Rochelle?  (still, she remains unresponsive.  Thus, Liam leans over the table a little closer) Should we get arsenic on that burger?
Rochelle:  Yeah.  (She answers cluelessly, but the question quickly dawns)  Wait-- What?
Liam:  My point exactly.  You haven't been listening to a word I have been saying.
Rochelle:  (Liam turns his head back as she speaks) I'm sorry.  I'm just--
Liam: (breaking her speak as his eyes set back upon hers) clearly focused on someone else. (she shamefully bows her head, shooing the strands of her that fall down in front of her face)

(<- Nichols' Beauticon ->)
Shaquanna:
Malina, believe me, I have thought about this.  I'm not walking into this with my eyes closed.
Malina:  If you say so.  Look, I understand your wanting to be close to your family, but leaving all of this behind forever. (she references the room by pointing her two index fingers aimlessly at the ceiling) I don't know.  It just seems like something more is going on.
Shaquanna:  What is going on is I need to be with my family and I don't need to be worrying about the day to day demands of running a modeling agency.
Malina:  But that's what you love.  Nichols' Beauticon is rising to the top again.
Shaquanna:  Because of you.  Because of your hard work and dedication.  With you at the reins, it will continue to thrive.  That is why I have made provisions.
Malina:  Provisions?
Shaquanna:  When I leave, I want you to take over.

Rochelle, Mitchell, Sandy, and Kyle

MYSTERIES OF OUR LIVES:
