About Matthew

Hallandale's resident psychic dreamer, Matthew is more intuned with his emotions than his older, secretive brother. Of course, one could argue that Earl has been hardened by circumstances. Nevertheless, he opposes his brother's gift and desires for him to lead a normal life. Unfortunately for Earl, Matt finds a kindred spirit in Dana Lombard. The two end up working together on a big mystery in Coral Springs involving a dangerous mob woman, Denise Sharrington. Desperate to understand more about his and Dana's connection, he locates a book that connects their families as well as local resident, Crystal Perez.

Matthew confronted his brother with his findings, only to realize that Earl already knew about their father's paranormal interest. Earl tried to convince his brother that he kept the secret for his own good, but Matt was furious and denounced him as his brother. He and Dana came together, intending to share the news with Crystal, but their plan was derailed when they became witnesses to the murder attempt on Billy Clyde. After Billy rebounded and disappeared from his hospital bed, Matt and Dana came clean with Crystal about their connection. Crystal did not want to believe it, but the duo helped her use her visions to track down Billy, who had confronted Javier Sanchez about the assasination attempt on his life. Matt and Dana were present out the apartment complex when Javier decided to end it all, jumping from his balcony to his death.

In aftermath of Javier's death, he and Dana shared their first kiss. It was akward, and appeared to be a one-time event. Of course, he's been a little preoccupied since then, learning that his brother contracted a deadly virus known as Blackadder36. When he and Earl finally came face to face in the hospital, Matthew realized how much he had taken for granted. He only hoped his brother would somehow pull through, despite the reading of Dana's tarot cards that forecast impending death. After several weeks, his brother has regained consciousness, allowing both to come to a new understanding. The question is how long will it last?
