About Samantha

The youngest of the Keller clan, Samantha exemplifies a warm and loving spirit that keeps her regulated through challenges. She has a very close relationship with her older brother, Royce, and is married to Dr. Brock Lombard. Her union with Brock was not a smooth one, beginning while she was away in Paris for medical school. After a misunderstanding, the two parted ways for a season. Brock later had a change of heart, and followed her to Hallandale to win her back. She was hesitant to reconcile given how abruptly things ended between them the first time. Her reservations increased when she learned that Brock broke off their engagement under the guise that she had been unfaithful in Paris (misreading a situation that occured with her friend, Tyler Chappell, who admittedly was attracted to her).

Overtime, her heart soften with his persistent efforts. After a second proposal for marriage, the two married in front of friends and family at a local church. Despite his misgivings, Royce ultimately gave his blessing to his sister and accepted Brock as his new brother-in-law. Following their honeymoon, strange events begin to occur, initially linked to Ty Chappell, but later revealed to be deceptive mind games orchestrated by her husband's one-night stand, Leigha Gray. While hurt by the discovery of his indiscretion, she realized the affair was one of the past, and did not want to give up on their marriage.

In season five, Samantha and her colleagues at Leysdale Hospital begin treating patients for an unknown pathogen that was causing grave sickness. When Earl Pryce suddenly fell ill after his return trip from Springfield, the Leysdale team determined a common thread with recent travel to Springfield and the virus. Wishing to do more for an old family friend, Samantha went to Springfield to investigate. Her questions were met with great resistance at Springfield Medical, and across town. Springfield Medical's chief-of-staff, Dr. Daniel Mayfield, does divulge that the antidote is part of a rare, poisonous flower known as the azalea. However, he refuses to reveal the location of the flower. After some strongarming, Daniel agrees to take her to the Azalea Garden. During their commute, Daniel's car breaks down, forcing the duo to walk to a nearby hotel, where they end up having to share a room.
