About Shalia

Shalia is a mysterious, young woman that came onto Derek while he was drowning his sorrows away one night in bar. It was obvious from the moment she arrived on scene that she had ominous plans in mind. First, she wormed herself into Derek's bed. After an STD scare, she revealed that she and Derek were husband and wife. She eventually won him over, but his friend, Ben, was not easily swayed and had her investigated. Fearing what his investigation would turn up, Shalia cut the power to Derek's apartment building and stole the damaging folder Ben had acquired. When Ben realized what happened, he tore after her in the woods, but she got away. The next morning, he discovered that she had scratches on her arm consistent with a chase through the woods, but she convinced Derek she got them while gardening. Ben remained suspicious! It turns out she was involved in some shady business dealings with Andrew Stokes, a man who recently befriended Shanna.

Desperate to stop Ben, Shalia pleaded with his wife to stop her husband's ridiculous crusade, but Shanna only became suspicious herself. When Ben took off for Nevada, Shalia went frantically to Andrew. He "reluctantly" agreed to help her with Ben. Unbeknownst to her, this fit perfectly with his master plan. Within 48 hours, Ben vanished, severing all contact with Derek. Shanna became convinced that Shalia was involved in her husband's disapperance. Derek convinced his wife to produce an alibi proving her innocence. Shanna, however, remained on the warpath and had Shalia in her sights. In the week to follow, she learned from her husband that Ben was killed in a plane crash. A guilt-ridden Shalia confronted Andrew, and realized she was entangled with a dangerous man. She tried to break off their partnership, but he reminded her that he's the one in charge. Although shaken, she retorted that she had friends in high places. He assured her they are both on the same side, to which her husband bore witness.
