About Rochelle

Rochelle has very high standards when it comes to the people in her life, which is in great part due to the betrayal that she suffered at the hands of her own mother, who abandoned her and her older brother, Mitchell, to be with another man, leaving their father to raise them alone. This single act would ignite Rochelle's hatred toward her mother for years to come.

In her late teens, Rochelle became involved with brothers Pierce and Jean-Luc Donovan (not at the same time). Ultimately, she preferred Jean-Luc, but he never felt right about pursuing the relationship, and jumped ship to attend college out-of-state. A year later, she became involved with Leonard Stone, who was a few years older and had a well-deserved reputation as a ladies man. Their relationship would suffer many ups and downs, but the final straw would come after she discovered him in bed with her best friend, Lacreasha Dupree. The next morning, Leonard was found dead. Ambitious and determined police detective, Aubrey Capitulous Everestt, was convinced that Rochelle was the murderess. She set up an interrogation party, where she revealed to most of Hallandale that Leonard survived the shooting. However, with no memory of the shooting, Rochelle reluctantly agreed to help him remember.

Over the next several weeks, evidence began to mount against Rochelle and she was arrested. Her friend and colleague, Evelin Vasquez, represented her during the trial. However, the prosecution (led by Liam Jackson) leveraged the evidence, and testimonies of Rochelle's closest allies to build a strong case. It was after the testimony of her former friend, Lacreasha, that the trial took a turn. Lacreashea revealed that the man sitting in the courtroom was not Leonard, but his twin brother, Dean. Furthemore, she revealed that Hallandale's lead detective was complicit in Dean's fraud. The judge declared a mistrial, and Rochelle was set free. She cut ties with Leonard/Dean, who found himself facing fraud charges. They would later join forces to help him find his brother's murderer.

The search led them to Kavina. In time, Rochelle's attitude toward Kavina softened, much to Dean's approval. During Kavina's conviction trial, Lacreasha finally disclosed to Rochelle the real reason she was trying to keep her and Leonard apart: she had proof that Leonard and Rochelle were half-siblings. It became clear to Rochelle that there was no going back: that their friendship was over. Seeking more answers, she went to Coral Springs in search of her mother. The mother/daughter reunion, however, led to more outrage when she learned that her mother married Leonard and Dean's father, Leo Stone. Leo was able to talk her down, and bridge a truce between mother and daughter. Ironically, as she is coming to terms with her mom's past, she is rattled by memory from her own past (the night of Leonard's murder).

Upon returning to Hallandale, she and Liam Jackson enjoy a nightcap at his place. The following afternoon, they have a date at a club, but is left disappointed with Rochelle's preoccupation on Lacreasha and Kyle.
